NEIGHBOURHOOD DEVELOPMENT PLAN

What is a neighbourhood development plan (NDP)?

A NDP is a document that sets out planning policies for the local area.

Giving local people a voice in how their parish is shaped for the future including future:

  • Developments and housing
  • Business and Employment
  • Transport and infrastructure
  • Environment and Cultural Heritage.

Pentewan Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty, which has some of the most significant natural and historic environments in Cornwall, with diverse rural village communities which all have different needs and priorities.

0ne of the most exciting aspects of a NDP is the ability to bring people together for the good of the community, come and join us and help to shape our community and guide future planning decisions in the parish, our NDP has the potential to:

  • Maximise affordable housing,
  • Introduce a no second home policy,
  • Influence design of new housing,
  • Protect biodiversity and wildlife
  • Protect our AONB
  • Define future for business, education, transport
